Teaching

Overview

Transmission of historical knowledge and experience, meaning, and values in city-building is an important cultural process for cities. To prepare new generations of urban planners, designers, policymakers, management personnel, and professionals, we aim to develop and identify relevant urban and planning history and heritage courses at the University of Hong Kong and beyond. These will help students explore key processes and milestones of global and regional urban trajectories for important lessons and insights concerning urban sustainability, resilience, and livability. We hope that the historical explorations will become part of the matrix within which students formulate creative ideas for sustainable urban futures.
